Here are two super easy homemade dish soap recipes, which are suitable for the dishwasher and should be used with a white vinegar rinse.

The liquid dish washer soap can be used if washing your plates by hand, just ensure that you use hot water and that your rinsing is done in a white vinegar solution after you have used your soap, for super sparkly glasses and plates.

Many big brand name detergents use "surfactants", phosphates and irritants that are contaminating and non-biodgradable, they are also eyebogglingly expensive, so in true green and frugal fashion, here is a simple and effective solution !

For powder dish washer soap, you will need;

1 1/2 cups washing soda, 1/2 cup borax - combine these together well and add 30 drops of your chosen essential oil - see the suggested essential oil blends below. Store in a glass jar. Use 1 1/2 tablespoons for each wash with 3 - 4 tablespoons of white vinegar in the rinse compartment.

For liquid dish washer soap, you will need;

2 cups of liquid soap, 1/2 cup of hot water, 20 drops of your chosen essential oil, see the suggested essential oil blends below. Mix these ingredients together well. Store in a glass jar. Use 1 1/2 tablespoons for each wash with 3 - 4 tablespoons of white vinegar in the rinse compartment.
